Dave Cates

Dave joined Insight in 2017 and works with portfolio companies to accelerate growth and scale operations.  Prior to Insight, he worked as a Consultant with Bain & Company in their Boston office and as Strategy & BizOps Manager at Skillshare. At Bain, he focused on growth strategy, M&A, and private equity diligences of enterprise software and consumer internet businesses. At Skillshare, he worked with the executive team on shaping company strategy, scaling operations, and managing investor relations. Dave also worked at Accion Venture Lab, supporting seed stage portfolio companies on issues of product-market fit & growth strategy, and at the World Bank, consulting on social protection and poverty reduction in Swaziland. Originally from Kennett Square, PA, Dave attended the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar and graduated with a BA in Economics and a Master’s of Public Policy.
