He led the company from inception to one of the largest and fastest-growing real estate brands in the U.S. with more than 50 million monthly unique users and a merger with Zillow in 2015 that valued Trulia at $3.5 billion. Prior to starting Trulia, Pete was part of the founding team of lastminute.com, a leading European online travel site that was acquired in 2005 by Travelocity/Sabre Holdings for over $1 billion. These experiences gave Pete a rarely acquired understanding of what it takes to scale a company from a great idea to a $1 billion+ exit, all from a Founder’s perspective.

After graduating with a masters degree from MIT’s Media Lab in 1995, David co-founded Firefly, an early pioneer in personalization and privacy technology. Firefly was acquired by Microsoft in 1998 where the company’s flagship product became the Microsoft Passport, the web’s first unified authentication and identity platform. After Firefly, David co-founded PeoplePC, a company dedicated to simplifying the process of joining the online world. PeoplePC served over 600,000 individual subscribers as well as Fortune 100 corporations such as Ford Motor Company, Vivendi Universal and Delta Air Lines. PeoplePC went public in 2001 and was acquired by Earthlink in 2002. In 2005, David co-founded SpotRunner, a Los Angeles-based technology company that worked to revolutionize the way advertising was created, planned, bought and sold.

Prior to founding New Stack, Nick began his career as a Developer. He went on to work in M&A and Product Management for Danaher. There he developed one of the most successful products in the company's history -an analytical device for testing compounds in drinking water. In May 2014, Nick founded the 1st VC podcast, The Full Ratchet, which has grown to over 90k active subscribers.

Prior to Gradient, Zach led acquisitions and strategic investments as a member of Google’s Corporate Development team, where he focused on Google’s Cloud, Ads and Commerce businesses. Before Google, Zach advised software and internet companies as an investment banker, leading companies through M&As, IPOs, and other financing opportunities. Zach started his career as a quant and data scientist at a leading energy trading hedge fund, and also co-founded a social media startup. Zach serves on the Board of Directors at Openly, Elsa, and Wise Systems, among other companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia, his JD from the UCLA School of Law, and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Elizabeth Galbut is a venture capitalist and business designer. Prior to finishing business school, she founded A-Level Capital, the first student-led venture capital firm powered by Johns Hopkins students. Prior to graduate school, Elizabeth was a strategy & operations consultant at Deloitte Consulting focusing on large healthcare clients.Outside of her client-facing work, she contributed to business development efforts that led to over $200M of new work. Elizabeth holds a MBA/MA Design Leadership Dual degree from Johns Hopkins University and Maryland Institute college of Art. She is also a proud alumnus of Georgetown University and London School of Economics.

Jillian loves getting to speak to and work with passionate individuals who are obsessed with the problems and inefficiencies that face our society. Jillian is a fintech nerd and loves to explore the intersection of financial technology and all other sectors. More broadly, Jill works across consumer and enterprise companies with a focus on e-commerce, marketplaces, and SaaS solutions. Prior to joining Cowboy, Jillian spent 5 years investing at Anthemis, an early-stage fintech focused venture firm, focused across North America and Europe. Jillian worked closely with companies ranging the spectrum of fintech such as Pipe, Maxwell, Matic, Nivelo, and Rally Rd (to name a few). She also led the launch of the Female Innovators Lab, Anthemis’ venture studio in partnership with Barclays that supports female founders. Prior to Anthemis, she was in investment banking at Barclays within the financial institutions group.

Ryan Freedman is an entrepreneur turned investor on a never-ending journey to bring efficiency and innovation to the real world. Prior to Alpaca, Ryan founded Corigin, a real estate investment firm with $600 million AUM. He led this firm with a lens towards innovation and has been at the forefront of analyzing and adopting real estate technology to enhance operations and investment decisions. To that end, Corigin was an early pioneer of the co-living concept, infusing experience and community into multi-family long before others thought to. In 2008, Ryan co-founded Coral Capital, a tech-enabled commercial finance operation that has provided over 1.5 billion in financing to small businesses. His obsession with technology and efficiency informed his natural progression from a real estate executive to a venture capitalist and PropTech investor.

Jon Soberg prides himself on his dedication and support to the startups he funds. “I hope that I’m the trusted advisor to be the first call when one of my companies needs advice,” he said. And for Soberg, it’s more than just talk: He was an early investor in the ghost-kitchens logistics unicorn Reef and even went inside as its chief operating officer to help build out the company. Since Soberg’s initial seed investment, Reef has gone on to operate in 200 cities around the world and raised $700 million in private-equity funding in November 2020. Soberg now runs MS&AD Ventures with a focus on workplace and insurtech startups. On the side, he also works as an angel investor for startups that don’t fit the fund’s mission, such as his seed investment in Clubhouse.

Previously led institutional fund products at AngelList, designed an algorithmic investing platform for Hone Capital, was Co-founder & CTO at FreshPay, the first Bitcoin debit card, was on the founding team as Architect & Head of Mobile Engineering at Chartboost (acquired by Zynga for $250M), and worked in engineering at Tapulous through its acquisition by Disney.

Brendan Wallace is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Fifth Wall, where he guides the firm’s strategic vision. Prior to starting Fifth Wall, Brendan co-founded Identified, a workforce optimization data and analytics company that raised $33 million of venture funding and was acquired by Workday (NYSE: WKDY) in 2014. He also co-founded Cabify, the largest ridesharing service in Latin America, and has been an active investor, leading more than 60 angel investments including Bonobos, Dollar Shave Club, Lyft, SpaceX, Clutter, and Philz Coffee. Brendan started his career at Goldman Sachs in the real estate, hospitality, and gaming group before joining The Blackstone Group’s real estate private equity practice. Brendan is from New York City and currently lives in Venice. He graduated from Princeton University, where he received his BA in political science and economics. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Leo received a bachelor's degree in Engineering and Applied Science (Computer Science) from Caltech.

I care about integrity, honesty and directness. I also look for determination, persistence and grit. I constantly remind my founders that if you persist, you will succeed. I’m also not afraid to say that love is a big part of my life. I’m not going to be just a partner or even a friend. I’m striving to bring love to you and your company in every interaction. One theme in my partnerships is virtuous data cycles—businesses where as they accumulate customers, their data becomes more valuable over time. There are lots of AI companies like that, and it can be completely non-obvious.

Vishal invests in values-driven founders and companies that dramatically improve healthcare outcomes, create more human-centered financial systems, and reimagine consumer services from the ground up. He leads Obvious’ investments in full-stack healthcare with Virta, Galileo, and Devoted Health; financial technology startups such as Hedvig, One, Corvus, and Openly; and purpose-led consumer services like Good Eggs and Block Renovation. Before co-founding Obvious, Vishal was the founding partner of Indian-based fund SONG Investment Advisors. He also served as a senior executive at Steve Case’s Revolution, LLC. Prior to his career as an investor, Vishal spent a decade at outdoor gear and apparel retailer Patagonia, in roles ranging from product manager to Chief Strategy Officer. He was selected as a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a Next Generation Fellow of the American Assembly, both recognizing value-based leadership.

Noah Breslow leads BCV’s platform team, which provides business-building support to BCV portfolio companies and designs the systems to run the firm. He brings experience as an engineer, early-stage entrepreneur, and public company CEO to assist companies at all stages of the journey. Noah joined BCV in 2021 as an operator-in-residence after his company was acquired, and became a partner in January 2022.
