Mr. Steed joined Paladin in 2008, and he currently leads the development and implementation of the Firm’s multi-stage, national security-related investment strategy, particularly in Paladin’s global IT and Cyber Security portfolios. He is also responsible for deal sourcing, deal execution, and portfolio company management, and he has provided board-level oversight for numerous Paladin portfolio companies, including Bugcrowd, CertiVox, Courion, Endgame, Nexidia, PhishMe, and QuantaLife (among others). Prior to joining Paladin, Mr. Steed worked in Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group (PBIG), the ultra-high-net-worth division of its Private Client Group, and he is also a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIAA), holding the Association’s professional designation with a specific focus on asset allocation and risk management strategies in private equity and venture capital.

Clare became a Versant managing director in January 2017 and leads investments in San Diego and the Bay Area. Clare currently is responsible for strategic business development, operations and finance for the Inception Sciences research sites in San Diego, Vancouver and Montreal. Daegwon Chae joined Kleiner Perkins in 2016 and focuses on investments in high-growth consumer internet and software companies. Before joining Kleiner Perkins, Daegwon worked in the Special Situations Group at Goldman Sachs, where he invested in a variety of growth-stage companies as a member of the Private Capital Investing team. While atGoldman, his investment focus centered on companies in the technology, healthcare, and logistics industries. Previously, Dan co-founded SpeedDate (acquired by IAC), a live-video online dating service that used real-time matching algorithms to connect its 23 million members. Dan was the Founding Partner, Chairman and CEO of Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO), where investors enjoyed a $8.5B equity exit on a $1.0B investment. Dan was a co-founding executive of Level 3 and joined Metropolitan Fiber Systems (MFS) as it began to scale. All three exited for enterprise values > $10B. Dan also led the take private of ICG, which achieved a 25X return and led to the ideation of Zayo.

Dana Stalder is a Silicon Valley based general partner at Matrix Partners, where he invests in early stage software and fintech companies. He has managed nimble ventures as well as 2,500-person teams.
