Pieter Abbeel is Professor and Director of the Robot Learning Lab at UC Berkeley [2008], Co-Director of the Berkeley AI Research (BAIR) Lab, Co-Founder of covariant.ai [2017], Co-Founder of Gradescope [2014], Advisor to OpenAI, Investment Partner at AIX Ventures, Advisor to many AI/Robotics start-ups. Rachel Geller joined Insight in 2008. Rachel then led the company's New Mobility organization, which includes the JUMP eBike and eScooter businesses as well as running Uber's Incubator which funds and develops new products and services on Uber platform. Renny works with enterprise technology founders from the earliest days. Prior to First In, he invested in the first financing rounds of more than a dozen companies. A veteran startup founder, he co-founded security company RedOwl Analytics in 2012. RedOwl was acquired by Forcepoint (Raytheon) in 2017. Most recently he was a principal from 2017 – 2020 at an independent investment management firm, Brown Advisory, with more than $75 billion in assets under management.

Renny began his career as a Marine Corps intelligence officer and served in Iraq and East Asia. He went on to work in national security and intelligence policy at RAND from 2007–2009, during which time he researched and analyzed issues pertaining to national security.

Reuven (Robert) serves as 2B.VC's Managing Partner and is a member of the board in many of our portfolio companies.  Reuven has extensive experience in the tech and telecommunication industries holding many C-level roles including CEO of Telrad Networks.  In addition to his role at 2B, Reuven also serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee at the Academic College of Tel-Aviv, Yaffo, and as Chairman of the Board at the Management Company Fund for Postgraduates in Social Sciences and Humanities. Reuven acts as an external Board Member in Bituach Haklai Central Cooperative Society Ltd as well as Chairman of the Investment Committee.

Rex focuses on early-stage and growth investments in consumer technology businesses. He’s particularly interested in online communication, Gen Z, commerce, marketplaces, and the future of work. Prior to Index, Rex worked at Airtable, a no-code platform letting anyone create with software. Previously, Rex was an investor at TPG Growth and The Rise Fund, TPG’s global growth equity and social impact funds, where he oversaw the launch of TPG’s impact measurement tool at the World Economic Forum. He has run creator marketing for Calm and worked on social innovation policy for the California Governor’s Office. Rex was a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University, where he received a graduate degree in business, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Economics.  Rex writes Digital Native, a weekly blog about consumer technology.

Prior to joining Castle Island Ventures, Ria was Director of Research at Fidelity Digital Assets where she worked on bitcoin and digital asset research. Before joining Fidelity, Ria held the role of Senior Research Analyst at Circle, where she built out the Circle Research platform. Ria started her career as an Equity Research Associate on the Fintech and Payments team at Credit Suisse. She holds a BS in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business.

Previously at Glovo, Spain's largest unicorn, he was General Manager for Portugal and for Lola Market (an acquired company). Before Glovo, Ricardo scaled the Marketing department of a tech startup, CompareEuropeGroup (part of NovaFounders' portfolio), and led the Product department for one of its subsidiaries. In his early career, Ricardo experienced multiple roles at Vodafone, ranging from product to engineering to strategy. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Técnico Lisbon and an MSc in Telecom from KTH Stockholm.

Rich previously worked as an operator as EVP/GM of Products for mobile pioneer, Openwave Systems and CMO of Covad Communications. Rich started his career as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble and at McKinsey. Rich grew up in Santa Rosa, California and has a Materials Science & Engineering degree and Masters in Management from MIT.

Mr. Segal has served on the boards of many public and private companies which include Hudson General Inc., Air Express Int., and Penn Traffic, Schoolnet, Civitas, Wireless Generation, Smarterer and Flocabulary. Currently, Mr. Segal sits on the boards of various education technology companies including Advanced Prison Data Systems, Cinematic Health Education, Knowledge 2 Practice, Noodle Companies, Voxy, BEGiN-Homer Learning, EnGen and Vivvi.

Richard brings decades of investment experience to the fund. He is co-founder of Willow Spring Ranch Montana, a ranch devoted to sustainably raising organic lamb for the local and national gourmet market.

Prior to Bozeman, Richard had a long-term career in quantitative investments. He was Managing Director of the Statistical Arbitrage business at Citadel Investment Group in Chicago. Prior to this, he was Director of Research and partner at Numeric Investors, a quantitative equity fund in Boston where he founded investment strategies and ran the overall research effort. Early in his career, Richard was one of the founding members of the Alpha Strategies Group at Barclays Global Investors. Richard has served on the faculties of Duke University and the University of Arizona and is published in major academic journals.

In addition to his business pursuits, He founded and is one of the creative drivers behind the Museum’s STEAMlab – a hands-on, high-tech science and technology learning center focused on circuits, robotics and 3D printing, and expanding opportunities for the kids of Southwest Montana.

Prior to BAM, Richard served on Shoedazzle’s senior management team as its General Counsel and helped orchestrate the merger of the company with its largest competitor at the end of 2013. Before Shoedazzle, Richard headed the corporate practice at Lee, Tran and Liang, a boutique downtown Los Angeles law firm.

Richard Kim is a General Partner at Galaxy Interactive and a Managing Director at Galaxy Digital. He joined Galaxy Digital as COO in May 2018, before joining Galaxy Interactive in Dec 2018. Prior to joining Galaxy Digital, he was the COO of Global Foreign Exchange and Emerging Markets Trading at Goldman Sachs from 2015-18. From 2012-15, he worked at J.P.
