Hagi Schwartz joined Insight full-time in 2021 after serving as a senior advisor to Insight for multiple years. Prior to joining Insight, Mr. Schwartz held several executive positions at leading technology companies, including service as the CFO of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP) and Mercury Interactive Corporation (Nasdaq: MERQ), where he was also the corporate controller and GM of the company’s Israel site, at the time of their respective IPOs. Additionally, Mr. Schwartz has been serving on the board of several technology companies, both public and private. Mr. Schwartz holds a BS in Economics and Accounting from Bar Ilan University.

Howard is considered one of the pioneers of early-stage investing, having co-founded First Round Capital alongside Josh Kopelman, which was the first professional seed-stage fund. Prior to First Round, Howard helped found Idealab with Bill Gross and served as President of Renaissance Technologies, which he co-founded with Jim Simons.

Before Homebrew, I led consumer product management at YouTube, starting when it was acquired by Google. I originally joined Google in 2003, managing product and sales efforts for AdSense, Google‘s contextual advertising business. My first job in Silicon Valley was as the founding product and marketing guy at Linden Lab. Before graduate school, I was a management consultant and also spent a year at Late Night with Conan O‘ Brien.

I've had a pretty varied career as a founder, investor, product manager, and journalist, but nearly all of that has been in the fintech and crypto ecosystems. I'm currently the managing general partner of Vol. 1 Ventures, a pre-seed fund focused on fintech and crypto startups. Before starting Vol. 1 Ventures, I spent a few years building Fintech Today—a content and community company for fintech and crypto operators and founders. While investing is my full time job, I'm a builder at heart—I love working on complex financial problems that can be solved by technology. I first got into fintech after spending a little time in mortgage backed securities after college.

Immad Akhund is the co-founder and CEO at Mercury. Prior to founding Mercury, Immad was the CEO and co-founder at Heyzap, a mobile developer tools company, which sold for $45m in 2016. He is an active investor in Silicon Valley and has invested in 100+ seed-stage startups including Airtable, Substack, and Rappi.

Jacob is an early-stage investor and founder focused on the intersection of A.I. and practical commercial use cases. His expertise is in partnering with highly technical people to contribute everything “non-technical” in the first two years of a startup: Idea development, team building, customer development, value proposition development, storytelling, business model development, customer acquisition, and fundraising. Over the last 15 years, Jacob has helped to create numerous startups as a cofounder or senior executive, or in the construct of his role as co-Managing Director of the AI2 Incubator.

Jake Flomenberg is a Partner at Wing and focuses on AI/ML and technically focused PLG businesses as well as next-generation infrastructure, SaaS, and security investments. He currently works with companies including Cyberhaven, Human Interest, Noteable, SiMa, Torii, and Truera. He is always looking for new ways that data and AI can give people superpowers at work or impact the real world. Jake was a partner at Accel until 2018 where he was the lead investor and board member in companies including Demisto, Radar, Sumo Logic and actively involved with Trifacta. Prior to Accel, Jake held product leadership roles at Splunk and Cloudera and was a member of Lockheed Martin's Engineering Leadership Development Program.

Jake has a unique combination of operating and investing experience, which supports founders as they grow their businesses. Previously, as sole founder of Stone Bridge Ventures, 12 of his early-stage investments grew to become unicorn companies. Prior to that, he was president of TenX/Auction. With 800 people in his reporting org, he grew the real estate-focused transactional online marketplace to be the industry’s leading platform. The company was acquired for $1.6B. Jake started his tenure in venture capital as a member of the team that launched Lightspeed Venture Partners and became a key Managing Director helping drive the firm’s early growth. Early on, he was a Cisco product lead for the team that commercialized broadband technology, helping the group grow from startup to a $1B revenue run rate in 2 years and drove many important cybersecurity-focused innovations into his products.

James has over twenty-five years of experience building and leading technology companies from early stage company ideation to global market leadership. Jared worked in product management at various fintech companies. The earliest stages were always the most exciting and intellectually stimulating. He was drawn to crypto for similar reasons that he was drawn to fintech back in 2007: it’s the early innings of a multi-decade shift with the potential to disrupt the status quo worldwide. Jeff was previously CEO and then executive chairman of OpenTable, where he led the company during a period of accelerated domestic and international growth and oversaw its initial public offering during one of the longest tech IPO droughts in recent history. Prior to OpenTable, Jeff was Senior Vice President and General Manager of eBay North America where he oversaw eBay's early growth into one of the Internet's leading commerce brands.

Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, she led product at Solvvy, a startup bringing conversational AI to customer experience. Before that, she led user onboarding and freemium products at AppDynamics (acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). She was a Kleiner Perkins Product Fellow in 2016.

Co-founder of #ANGELS, an investment collective she started with five other women who built their careers together at Twitter. Previously, Jessica spent nearly a decade at Twitter, helping scale the company from 34 employees to several thousand. As the VP of Corporate Development and Strategy, she led dozens of acquisitions and played a critical role in catalyzing Twitter’s new product, technology, and business initiatives. She brought dozens of executives into the company along with products like Vine, Periscope, TweetDeck, and many more.

Joe Ruscio is a venture capital and tech startup veteran, having cofounded observability pioneer Librato and having worked in monitoring, analytics, cloud, and enterprise software development at leading firms such as SolarWinds, Evergrid, and Motorola for more than two decades. He has led investments for, and continues to advise, some of the fastest-growing developer-first startups in the industry.

Jon Soberg prides himself on his dedication and support to the startups he funds. “I hope that I’m the trusted advisor to be the first call when one of my companies needs advice,” he said. And for Soberg, it’s more than just talk: He was an early investor in the ghost-kitchens logistics unicorn Reef and even went inside as its chief operating officer to help build out the company. Since Soberg’s initial seed investment, Reef has gone on to operate in 200 cities around the world and raised $700 million in private-equity funding in November 2020. Soberg now runs MS&AD Ventures with a focus on workplace and insurtech startups. On the side, he also works as an angel investor for startups that don’t fit the fund’s mission, such as his seed investment in Clubhouse.

Prior to OSS Capital, Joseph was an EIR at Quantum Corporation in support of the Rook project which was subsequently donated to the CNCF (its first storage project) where he has also been involved (at the board level, in various committees and as an advisor) since inception. Joseph also founded KubeCon (now also run by the Linux Foundation's CNCF) while also founding and building Kismatic, the first enterprise-focused commercial Kubernetes company (acquired by Apprenda, subsequently acquired by ATOS). I strongly believe in immigrant founders: I saw firsthand the sheer tenacity of my parents who built a business while raising two daughters in a country where everything was foreign to them. I viscerally appreciate the challenges and the hopes of those chasing the American Dream—for many immigrants, there is more at stake than just their company. I nearly drowned as a child. I sobbed all day, and the day after that, I asked to enroll in swimming lessons. There are moments where every founder feels like they’re drowning—I want to be their first call when that happens. I started doing research in immunology when I was in middle school. I did translational oncology at Genentech, and then studied a new protein target to slow Alzheimer’s in college. At Stanford, I was able to marry my interests in biology with statistics and computer science, and I am excited to meet entrepreneurs innovating at that intersection.

Josh Coyne joined Kleiner Perkins in 2017 and focuses on investments in enterprise software and financial services. Prior to joining Kleiner Perkins, Josh was at Qatalyst Partners, where he helped advise on multi-billion dollar acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and financings across a variety of technology sectors. Originally from Cleveland, Josh graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a degree in Computer Science and Finance. Outside of work, Josh loves playing music, competing in triathlons, and nerding out on nutrition/health.

Julie is a co-founder and Managing Partner of the Urban Innovation Fund, a venture capital firm that invests in the future of cities. Previously, she co-founded Tumml, a startup hub for urban tech. Julie's work energizing urban-focused entrepreneurship has been featured in numerous press outlets, including CNN and The San Francisco Chronicle, among others. Having spent her early career at Pixar Animation Studios, Katelin transferred her culture building skills from film to tech, dedicating over a decade to developing teams as a senior executive at some of the internet’s most influential startups, including Kloutand Reddit. Kathryn Finney is the Managing General Partner of Genius Guild, a venture fund that invests in Black entrepreneurs building scalable businesses that serve black communities and beyond. One of the most influential women in tech (Inc Magazine), Kathryn's groundbreaking work laid the foundation for generations of black entrepreneurs and investors. In April 2020, Kathryn founded The Doonie Fund with a $10,000 personal donation, to support black women entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 crisis. The Doonie Fund has supported over 2,000 Black women entrepreneurs since 2020. Kevin Colleran is the Co-Founder and Managing Director at Slow Ventures.

Prior to Susa, Leo was the second engineering hire at Linkedin where he worked on the first versions of products like LinkedIn Jobs and LinkedIn Groups. Leo then worked on payment fraud detection algorithms at Google, and was also an early engineer at Factual, where he built data processing software. Leo received a bachelor's degree in Engineering and Applied Science (Computer Science) from Caltech.

Leads consumer investing for the firm and supports portfolio companies in their comms, community building, and go-to-market strategy. Prior to joining Variant, she was founder and managing partner at Atelier, a VC firm investing in the creator economy and future of work. Atelier and Variant merged to join forces in the fall of 2021 to invest in software that is owned and operated by its users– aligned on the belief that the future of consumer software is crypto. Before founding Atelier, Li was a consumer partner for 4 years at Andreessen Horowitz.

Liad Agmon is a serial entrepreneur with rich experience as a startup founder and Fortune 500 executive. He founded information security vendor Onigma (acquired by McAfee in 2006) and social search company Delver (acquired by Sears Holdings in 2009). Following Delver’s acquisition, Liad served as a VP of New Services at Sears Holdings and on the board of its Home Electronics and Outlets business units. From there, he went on to start Dynamic Yield, the AI-powered Personalization platform, which was acquired in 2019 by McDonald's for $300 million. In 2021, he led the spin-off of Dynamic Yield from McDonald’s and its acquisition by Mastercard. In 2022 Liad joined Insight Partners as a Managing Director.

Marc focuses on global early-stage fintech investing. His investment interests include infrastructure, banking and wealth management technology, and businesses operating at the intersection of fintech and other categories (primarily healthcare and sustainability). Prior to a16z, Marc led the personal financial management vertical at Plaid, where he built and launched partnerships that help millions of consumers live healthier financial lives. Marie Rocha has over 20+ years of experience in business and technology as a software engineer and serial entrepreneur. Marie's first startup was a candidates matching platform for staffing agencies, which she built and sold at the age of 19. She later co-founded a sustainable e-commerce store in 2010, followed by IMAK software, a startup building software and platforms for small businesses and nonprofits. As a champion for women, she is one of HAYVN Hatch's founders, a quarterly women-centric pitch event to support women founders seeking funding, exposure, marketing, and growth.

Mark joined Index in 2015. He leads investments in financial services and software businesses, from seed to pre-IPO stages.

Mark started his venture capital career when Hummer Winblad Venture Partners began investing its first fund in 1990. Over the last 30 years Mark has been the first venture investor and served on the boards of numerous successful start-ups, including Omniture (IPO; subsequently acquired by Adobe), AdForce (IPO; subsequently acquired by CMGI), NetDynamics (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Scopus Technologies (IPO; subsequently acquired by Siebel), Domo (IPO), Crowdfactory (acquired by Marketo) and Teem (acquired by WeWork). He continues to serve as a director of various private companies. He is also a past Director of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). In 2011, appointed by President Barack Obama to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), a 21-person advisory group of the nation’s leading scientists and engineers.

Matt has spent his career creating technologies and businesses that have transformed industries. In digital advertising he helped build, scale and optimize the Internet’s top advertising exchanges at Google, Admeld and LiveRail, which collectively handled trillions of transactions. As employee number seven at AdMeld (which was acquired by Google for $400M in 2011), Matt played a central role in all aspects of the company, from product development to sales to operations. After Google, Burton joined LiveRail (which was acquired by Facebook for $500M in 2014) where he continued to focus on programmatic exchanges.

For 30 years, Matt has been investing in the visionary fintech founders creating seismic changes in payments, lending, capital markets, insurance, and real estate. He is particularly interested in backing companies building next-generation embedded fintech tools that will upend traditional banking, lending, and B2B payments through increased transparency and security.  

Prior to venture capital, Matthew was a Product manager at ESPN and a Senior Consultant at Booz Hamilton.

Max Gazor joined CRV in 2011 and brings deep enterprise domain experience spanning M&A, strategy and business development. Prior to CRV, Max led acquisitions and investments across enterprise and emerging technologies for Cisco’s Corporate Development team. Before Cisco, Max was responsible for business development within Oracle's Server Technologies division.

Michael is responsible for the overall leadership and investing efforts at the firm. He is an active investor and presently sits on the boards of Reciprocal portfolio companies Peekd, MindBridge, Qwil, WorkRails, and Tallarium. Michael concentrates on the capital markets, asset management and breakthrough technologies powering blockchains and machine intelligence. He has been an early backer of notable pioneers in these areas including DataMinr, MindBridge, Solana, and The Graph. Prior to Reciprocal, Michael served as a Portfolio Manager at SAC Capital Management (now Point 72) from 1996 to 2012. Starting at SAC during the early commercialization of the internet, he managed public technology investments within the hardware, enterprise software and communication sectors, generating 15 consecutive years of positive returns. His focus shifted in 2012, where he led the firm’s first Fintech investment in the private markets.

Miguel is a former banker and fintech podcast host. He hosts the Fintech Leaders Podcast and previously co-hosted the Wharton Fintech Podcast, which he grew 13x to a monthly audience of 130k. In a prior life, he was a banker for Citi and MUFG in their structured finance and infrastructure teams. He holds an MBA from Wharton and an MA from the Lauder Institute and has lived in several countries, including Bolivia, China, Russia, Ireland, Uruguay, Italy, and USA. He is fluent in Russian, Spanish, and English.

Mike Droesch is a partner in the Cambridge office. Previously, Mike worked with a few venture-backed startups in Boston, including two Bessemer portfolio companies, Fuze and InsightSquared, where he supported sales operations and analytics efforts. He started his career as a systems engineer and then spent nearly three years in management consulting at Navigant, where he helped companies build new businesses around emerging energy and infrastructure technologies in the U.S. and Middle East.

Mike caught the technology bug at an early age. He started playing video games at age 4, taught himself programming at 13, and founded his first startup at 19. While studying for the bar exam, he had the idea for BarMax, a $1000 iPhone app for exam preparation, which is currently the top rated bar exam course in the app store.  Mike went on to co-found Stitcher, an early podcasting company backed by Benchmark where he led partnerships with The Wall Street Journal, NPR, The Washington Post, TechCrunch, and many others. Mike was also early at TrialPay, a payments company that was acquired by Visa, where he led the partnership with Facebook that doubled the company’s revenue. Mike’s enthusiasm for the early stage brought him to Yelp in 2010, where he was Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Development. In that role, Mike secured more than 200 partnerships with leading companies, including Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung, and he led Yelp’s acquisition of Eat24.

Before becoming a full-time investor, Mike was involved as a founder and operating executive at back-to-back startup IPOs, including Tivoli Systems (IPO TIVS, acquired by IBM) and Motive (IPO MOTV, acquired by Alcatel-Lucent.) Some of Mike’s investments include Twitter, Twitch.tv, Clover Health, Okta, Outreach, ngmoco, Chegg, Bazaarvoice, and Demandforce.

Mike is a Partner at QED, focusing on supporting the portfolio and finding new investment opportunities – with a current focus on Latin America as a region. Mike is passionate about finding the next wave of fintech’s disruptive entrepreneurs and business models – particularly in lending, payments, and anything that helps Small Businesses thrive. Prior to QED, Mike spent 10 years with Capital One working across several functions and business lines developing a skill set in strategy and analytics.

Misha joined Susa Ventures in 2020. As a Principal, Misha is responsible for leading new investments at both the seed and growth stage. Misha invests across all sectors, with a particular focus on fintech, real estate, commerce, supply chain and enterprise SaaS. He invests globally, having sourced Susa investments in five countries. Prior to Susa, Misha was an early employee at Funding Circle US (LSE: FCH).

Following her time at 500 Startups, Monique became a Venture Scout at Lightspeed Venture Partners and a trusted advisor to foundations and venture capital firms like SoftBank where she advised on the Vision Fund’s Emerge program.
