Ann is well-known in Silicon Valley as a pioneer investor in highly technical companies because of her background as a PhD in math modeling of infosec at Stanford. Her deep interest in technology began as a child – her father was a NASA rocket scientist – and her expertise developed as an undergraduate at Yale, where she participated in the Robocup Competition in Paris, France. Ann has also made significant investments in consumer (commerce, curation), marketplaces, and software for SMBs and solopreneurs. Mike was previously a director of Blue Bottle Coffee, Hortonworks, and Zuora. Mike held several executive positions prior to Index, including Chief Strategy Officer and SVP/GM of Cisco's routing business. Mike managed a P&L in excess of $10 billion in revenues, and his team was responsible for the acquisition of over 70 companies, some of which were multi-billion deals.

Co-founder and former CEO of Trulia, one of the internet’s most successful marketplaces. He led the company from inception to one of the largest and fastest-growing real estate brands in the U.S. with more than 50 million monthly unique users and a merger with Zillow in 2015 that valued Trulia at $3.5 billion. Prior to starting Trulia, Pete was part of the founding team of lastminute.com, a leading European online travel site that was acquired in 2005 by Travelocity/Sabre Holdings for over $1 billion. These experiences gave Pete a rarely acquired understanding of what it takes to scale a company from a great idea to a $1 billion+ exit, all from a Founder’s perspective.

Ryan Freedman is an entrepreneur turned investor on a never-ending journey to bring efficiency and innovation to the real world. Prior to Alpaca, Ryan founded Corigin, a real estate investment firm with $600 million AUM. He led this firm with a lens towards innovation and has been at the forefront of analyzing and adopting real estate technology to enhance operations and investment decisions. To that end, Corigin was an early pioneer of the co-living concept, infusing experience and community into multi-family long before others thought to. In 2008, Ryan co-founded Coral Capital, a tech-enabled commercial finance operation that has provided over 1.5 billion in financing to small businesses. His obsession with technology and efficiency informed his natural progression from a real estate executive to a venture capitalist and PropTech investor.

Before Twitter, I was a Partner at Battery Ventures, where I co-led the seed and early stage investing practices. I joined Google in 2003 and was responsible for AdSense product management and partnerships. Before heading to Silicon Valley for Google, I worked for DoubleClick, in venture capital and as a strategy consultant.

Prior to Gradient, Zach led acquisitions and strategic investments as a member of Google’s Corporate Development team, where he focused on Google’s Cloud, Ads and Commerce businesses. Before Google, Zach advised software and internet companies as an investment banker, leading companies through M&As, IPOs, and other financing opportunities. Zach started his career as a quant and data scientist at a leading energy trading hedge fund, and also co-founded a social media startup. Zach serves on the Board of Directors at Openly, Elsa, and Wise Systems, among other companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia, his JD from the UCLA School of Law, and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Zal is the solo partner at Refactor Capital, a seed-stage firm focused on climate, bio, and health investments. Previously, he helped launch the Bio Fund at a16z and prior to that, spent 10 years in product at Google, Netflix, and LinkedIn. He is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania.

Before Flybridge, he co-founded a consumer messaging app and held operational roles at Dreamit Ventures and venture-backed Offerpop. When he’s not working, Adriel is fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs in NYC, volunteering for organizations like Defy Ventures and New York on Tech. He received a B.S. in Entrepreneurship from Cornell University and splits his time between New York City, Mexico City and Istanbul.

Ajay leads the west coast office for BCV. Previously, Ajay was head of sales and marketing at Trilogy where he grew annual revenues to $300 million and led Trilogy’s product expansion into new areas such as enterprise pricing and incentive management. Prior to Trilogy, Ajay was a consultant with the Los Angeles office of McKinsey & Company.

Alex Luce is an investor, materials scientist, and technology enthusiast. As a Partner at Creative Ventures, he invests in entrepreneurs tackling the most pressing global macroeconomic trends, including demographic changes straining our healthcare system, secular labor shortages, and the effects of climate change. He has led investments in a number of deeptech categories including medical devices, semiconductors, robotics, synthetic biology, and clean energy. Previously, Alex led CalCharge, a public-private partnership focused on energy storage and manufacturing innovation working with National Labs, startups, and leading corporates. He also spent time with Prelude Ventures, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Energy (ARPA-E), and a solar energy startup company. Alex holds a M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley and a B.S. in Engineering Physics with Honors from the University of Arizona.

Alexis founded HCVC in 2015 as a community-first venture firm to support hardtech founders. He's based in Paris and sits on the boards of Cowboy, Norbert Health, Twist and Remedee Labs.

Ali Rohde is the General Partner / Co-founder at Outset Capital.

Amanda (better known as Robson or Robby) loves working with passionate founders who have become experts in their space. Works with enterprise companies broadly but focuses on innovations in developer tooling, data management, security, applied AI, and supply chain. Before joining Cowboy, Amanda spent 3.5 years as an early-stage investor at Norwest Venture Partners. Before Norwest, she was a sell-side M&A investment banker on the enterprise software team at William Blair.

Amit is a partner in Bessemer’s Israel office where he focuses on investments in the region and throughout Europe. Prior to venture capital, Amit was a senior associate in McKinsey & Company, advising companies on projects related to technology strategy. Earlier in his career, Amit was a developer and then Product Manager at an e-commerce search and merchandising solutions startup Mercado, now part of Adobe Software. Amit holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology.

Andrew invests in consumer technology, including social, marketplace, entertainment, and gaming experiences. Andrew is a prolific writer and leading voice on mobile, metrics, and user growth. For the past decade, he’s covered the topic on andrewchen.com. He is the author of The Cold Start Problem, which explores how new start-ups launch and scale by leveraging network effects. He is also a board member and instructor at Reforge, which offers selective growth-focused programs for experienced professionals in marketing, product, data, and engineering. Prior to joining a16z, Andrew led the Rider Growth teams at Uber.

Prior to joining a16z, Anish held multiple roles at Credit Karma including the General Manager of Core Product and General Manager of U.S. Card, which he helped scale to over 100MM members and nearly $1B in 2019 revenue. Anish joined Credit Karma in 2015 via the acquisition of Snowball, a notifications startup he founded a year earlier. Prior to creating Snowball, Anish founded SocialDeck, a social-gaming company that was acquired by Google in 2010. He went on to lead various mobile product efforts as well as invest at Google Ventures.

My background is in product management so I love to jam and brainstorm, but what underpins how I work with founders is authentic human connection, empathy, and trust. I believe that a big part of my role as a VC is to help remove barriers, open doors, and be a trusted partner throughout this incredible journey. Before joining LJV, I was at Coatue, where I helped build the strategy for our first early stage fund and get it off the ground. I’m also the co-founder of Lej, a clothing brand, as well as a part-time DJ.

Prior to starting Felicis, Aydin was a Senior Manager at Google responsible for strategic partner development and account management in Asia Pacific, including Japan. Aydin joined Google in 1999 as its first Product Manager to launch Google’s first 10 international sites, its first online search licensing products, and its first Safe Search. He then became the first International Sales Manager at Google, responsible for worldwide licensing deals.

Prior to becoming a full time investor, he was the COO at a NYC-based real estate investment and property management firm.

Brendan Wallace is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Fifth Wall, where he guides the firm’s strategic vision. Prior to starting Fifth Wall, Brendan co-founded Identified, a workforce optimization data and analytics company that raised $33 million of venture funding and was acquired by Workday (NYSE: WKDY) in 2014. He also co-founded Cabify, the largest ridesharing service in Latin America, and has been an active investor, leading more than 60 angel investments including Bonobos, Dollar Shave Club, Lyft, SpaceX, Clutter, and Philz Coffee. Brendan started his career at Goldman Sachs in the real estate, hospitality, and gaming group before joining The Blackstone Group’s real estate private equity practice. Brendan is from New York City and currently lives in Venice. He graduated from Princeton University, where he received his BA in political science and economics. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Brittany Laughlin is a Partner at Lattice Ventures, providing launch capital and connections to entrepreneurs serving industries underserved in innovation. Prior she served as General Manager at Union Square Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm with $1B+ under management. Some portfolio companies include Etsy, Twitter, SoundCloud, Tumblr,Lending Club, and Kickstarter. I began my career in venture betting on student founders as a pre-seed investor with Dorm Room Fund, a national, student-run venture fund backed by First Round Capital, where I led investments in four pre-seed companies. At Crosscut Ventures, I co-created the first free job board focused solely on LA startups, Interchange. With the support of great partners like PledgeLA, Interchange will help make roles at LA-based startups more accessible to diverse candidates. I’ve begun building a community for women in enterprise called The Table with my friend Justine Humenansky of Playground Global.

Charles Birnbaum is a partner in Bessemer’s New York office, where he invests in early-stage and promising companies in the U.S. and Europe. He has a strong interest in fintech infrastructure, embedded financial services, consumer-facing products, the powerful emergence of DeFi, and the consumer-facing companies and infrastructure players that will serve as a bridge between DeFi and TradFi. Before joining Bessemer in 2013, Charles was one of the earliest team members at Foursquare, the location-based mobile application and social network, where he helped to bring forth the company’s first merchant-facing tools.

Chetan has been at Benchmark since 2018. Prior to that, was a general partner at NEA for seven years.

Chris is a 20+ year media and technology entrepreneur turned early-stage venture capitalist. He has launched three early-stage venture funds to help scale the C2V brand and has invested in over 45 portfolio companies.

Chris was the CEO and Co-founder of appssavvy, a pioneer in mobile native advertising, ultimately driving $70 million in revenues to the app ecosystem. He is a LP in Bowery Capital and Tech Stars and has held executive roles at Unacast and Ironsource, a now $11B mobile technology company.

David Cowan is one of the world’s leading investors, having funded Seed, Series A, and Series B rounds that led to over 30 IPOs. David was ranked sixth on the Midas List and tied for fourth in the Midas List of Hall of Fame. David has co-founded three cybersecurity companies incubated within Bessemer’s offices: VeriSign (NASDAQ: VRSN), serving as initial Chairman and CFO; Good Technology (fka Visto, acquired by Blackberry) serving as CEO; and Defense.net (acquired by F5). He earned an AB in computer science / mathematics and an MBA, both from Harvard University. Today he serves on several non-profit boards including the Center for Inquiry and the Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He is the co-writer of the Silicon Valley mockumentary series “Bubbleproof,” and producer of the award-winning MTV Documentary film “Afghan Dreamers.”

Principal at Founders Fund and cofounder and President of Varda Space Industries, which is building the world’s first space factories. Before joining Founders Fund, he was a principal at Khosla Ventures, head of growth at Teespring, and founder of a healthcare company called Nightingale. 

Ed is a seasoned VC with over 25 years of experience leading first-round investments and a passion for working with developer-first, engineering-driven founders. He founded boldstart in 2010 and has served as a day-one partner and board member or observer for cutting-edge tech names including Common Paper, Env0, and Spectro Cloud.

Elizabeth Galbut is a venture capitalist and business designer. Prior to finishing business school, she founded A-Level Capital, the first student-led venture capital firm powered by Johns Hopkins students. Prior to graduate school, Elizabeth was a strategy & operations consultant at Deloitte Consulting focusing on large healthcare clients.Outside of her client-facing work, she contributed to business development efforts that led to over $200M of new work. Elizabeth holds a MBA/MA Design Leadership Dual degree from Johns Hopkins University and Maryland Institute college of Art. She is also a proud alumnus of Georgetown University and London School of Economics.

Eric led investments in enterprise software companies such as Confluent and Amplitude, both of which IPO'ed in 2021. He is also an investor and board member at Cerebras Systems, Benchling and Contentful, all of which have multi-billion-dollar valuations. Before joining Benchmark, he was cofounder and CEO of social web browser Rockmelt, which failed and was scooped up by Yahoo in 2013 for $70 million. Vishria, who graduated from Stanford at age 19, led the Series A round in monitoring startup Pixie Labs, which was acquired by publicly traded platform New Relic two months later.

Jillian loves getting to speak to and work with passionate individuals who are obsessed with the problems and inefficiencies that face our society. Jillian is a fintech nerd and loves to explore the intersection of financial technology and all other sectors. More broadly, Jill works across consumer and enterprise companies with a focus on e-commerce, marketplaces, and SaaS solutions. I was a General Partner with North Bridge Venture Partners, from April 2012 to November 2014. Martin was previously the cofounder and chief technology officer at Nicira, which was acquired by VMware for $1.26 billion in 2012. While at VMware, Martin was a fellow, and served as senior vice president and general manager of the Networking and Security Business Unit, which he scaled to a $600 million run-rate business by the time he left VMware in 2016. He started his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he worked on large-scale simulations for the Department of Defense before moving over to work with the intelligence community on networking and cybersecurity. These experiences inspired his work at Stanford where he created the software-defined networking (SDN) movement, leading to a new paradigm of network virtualization. While at Stanford he also cofounded Illuminics Systems, an IP analytics company, which was acquired by Quova Inc. in 2006.

Micky Malka is focused on the utilization of technology to disrupt consumer financial services. Micky grew up in Venezuela where he learned the impact of devaluation and hyperinflation at a very young age. In 1998, Micky developed the online brokerage, Patagon by merging with Heptagon local operations. Patagon became Latin America’s first comprehensive Internet based financial services portal and dealer. The company expanded its online services to the United States and the rest of South America and was later acquired by the Spanish bank Banco Santander (NYSE: STD) for US$ 750 million.
